Organisation of the Hercules Foundation
The Hercules Foundation has a Board of Directors, administrative staff, two standing commissions and an assessment panel.
The Hercules Foundation’s Board of Directors is composed of four members proposed by FWO-Vlaanderen (fund for scientific research) and four members proposed by the IWT (institute for the promotion of innovation in science and technology in Flanders). The Flemish Government appoints the members of the Board of Directors and designates the President, who is an expert in science and innovation policy.
The Hercules Science Commission and the Hercules Invest Commission are set up to evaluate the proposals submitted for large-scale research infrastructure. Its members are nominated by the Flemish Minister of Science and Innovation.
The Hercules Foundation’s Board of Directors also set up an assessment panel.
